Bob's Blog

Welcome to my blog.  I'm Lion Skipper Bob Wilson, a 15 year life member of the Brisbane Lions Club, and proud of it.

I've wondered for a while how to start this blog and realize I need to begin at home, my home, at the Brisbane Lions Club.

For a small town like Brisbane, we have a large group of some 60 Lions.  That in itself is remarkable.  What is more remarkable is that we have become extended family. I am sure that few clubs have such close personal relationships with each other.  We are as close as brothers and sisters in a large extended family.   There is an old Apache word that describes this perfectly "Sitiki", meaning "friends standing in as family in time of crisis".

That would be us.  I'm bragging I know, but it is true.  If anyone in our close network is ill, sad, or celebrating, it is all of our burden or all of our celebration.  To me, that is Lionism at its best!

We serve, and we not only serve our community, our District and the Lions International, but we serve each other as brothers.

So welcome to my blog enjoy the photos, use the calendars and please, feel free to write to me and ask any questions that come up as I learn how to blog on.  I in turn will do my best to represent Lionism in its very best light. That of course will be easy.
